SVFC PREMIER COACHING STAFF

Coach Jeff started playing soccer when he was 4 years old. He began with the Simi Valley Youth Soccer League, followed by the Simi Valley Golden Eagles and then Chivas. In high school, Jeff played 4 years at Royal High School. Coaching life started in the late 90s when he was brave enough to coach his wife’s soccer team in the Simi Adult League. Coach Jeff continued until his oldest son was old enough to play in SVYSL in 2007, where he coached him there until age 7 and took first place in the U10 division with only 1 player that was a true U10 (everyone else was U8). Jeff then moved to Conejo Valley United and coached his son’s team until the end of 2013. They won the Coast Soccer League (CSL) every year over that span, won or made the final of more than 10 tournaments (including League Cup) and most importantly developed some fine young men and excellent soccer players. Jeff is especially proud of the fact that 6 of those players are currently playing on United States Development Academy teams. After his stint at CVU, he returned to Simi Youth and has been coaching his daughter and youngest son for the past few years. In 2017, Mike Hibdon and Jeff were selected to coach the 2006 Simi Valley Premier Girls club team. They finished in 2nd place in the Coast Soccer League Bronze Division in their first year together and are looking forward to improving next season. Coach Jeff believes in teaching players in a fun, positive and competitive manner where each player can grow and become the best player and person they can be.

Tara Espinoza began coaching youth soccer with SVYSL over 4 years ago. She has 3 children, two of which play soccer and whom she has also coached. Tara grew up playing soccer. At the age of 9 she began playing at the recreational level. She played on a club team from the San Fernando Valley, played 4 years of varsity Soccer during high school and then played at the collegiate level. She studied child development and has since been in the classroom both as an aid and as a teacher for Kindergarten. She continues to play soccer in an adult league in Simi Valley. Her passion and love for the sport drive her to push and motivate her players to challenge themselves and develop their skills. She believes that being a youth coach is more than just teaching a skill. It is equally as important to teach respect, help develop good character and to believe in oneself. Tara currently holds a National E license.

Coach Robledo started playing soccer as a child in the Simi Valley Youth Soccer League at age five. Two seasons later he worked his way up to the club level and eventually helped win four State Cup Championships for Simi Valley. With that being said, he has great pride in this soccer club.
He moved on to play with and was coached by some of America's best like Sigi Schmid, Coach of the L.A. Galaxy. Traveling around the country playing soccer and learning was a special time in Coach Robledo's life and helped him realize his love, passion, and becoming a student of the game.
Coming back to Simi Valley where his roots began and raising his children, giving back to this community has been very important to Coach Robledo. He has been coaching his children's soccer teams as well as the local high school for the past few years. Coaching hundreds of kids in the same club he started his soccer career and setting a fire in the hearts of these young athletes for the sport that he loves, teaching them skills, good sportsmanship, improving confidence, self-esteem and long-term friendship with memories that last a lifetime only makes him love the game that much more.
He has been in the game for over 40 years. His goal as your coach is getting your child to the next competitive level and thriving in this game we call soccer.
Coach Robledo currently holds a National E License.
